ATEX Compliance
Supplying fans for hazardous environments
ATEX 94/9/EC is the directive on equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The directive became legally effective on 1 July 2003. The directive is now EU law and any equipment, electrical or mechanical for installation in hazardous areas within the EU member states must now comply.
The manufacturer must identify machinery conforming to the ATEX regulations by attaching a nameplate displaying the manufacturers details, ATEX classification, CE mark, European Commission mark for EX products.
Finna Fans have been supplying corrosion resistant plastic fans into hazardous environments for over 10 years. We manufacture fans that are fully compliant with the ATEX directive 94/9/EC for use in hazardous areas. Our fans are suitable for:
- Equipment group II
- Equipment category 2 & 3
- Gas group II
It is the responsibility of the end user to specify to the fan manufacturer the zone and category they intend to use the fan.
We request that you contact Finna Fans if you require a quotation for a fan in a hazardous environment, so that we can provide an ATEX customer form to assist our customers in supplying all necessary information to ensure the correct category and zone are selected for each fan. |
